Q and A With Sherri and John-Disney Fun House, Kissimmee Florida
1. What led up to your purchase of a Disney Orlando vacation home?
Life is just too short! With what we have experienced with COVID and having a very close family member fighting cancer, we decided not to wait anymore and just do it!
We had spent a couple of months for the past few winters in the Orlando area in an effort to stay warm and be active in the winter time. We ended up just loving the time we spent in Florida and knew we wanted to have our own place. After staying in condos, apartments, and houses, we decided that this house was perfect for us. We also offer the home to other families who like to vacation in the Disney area to help produce income making our purchase a good financial decision.
2. How many years have you been visiting Disney?
All our lives! We have very fond memories of going as children and as adults we have taken our children many, many times. It truly is a place where we experience magic.
3. What was it that hooked you on Disney?
Gosh there are so many reasons!
We love just being outside enjoying the beautiful weather, walking in the parks and being able to hop on a ride.
The live music at Epcot and Disney Springs is fantastic and we can practice our dancing a bit.
The delicious foods we get to try and can keep going back for our favorites.
Experiencing the different festivals and holidays that the park offers.
Of course, seeing the characters on the cavalcades. In the past we also love the shows and fireworks that hopefully will come back soon.
4. How much do you plan to use your home for yourselves or for friends?
Probably about 4 months a year. We plan to spend most of the winter and early spring there. Then go back to Florida to enjoy some Halloween fun!
5. In addition to your Disney Fun House, what other passions fill your day?
We are passionate about helping people live the life of their dreams. We have achieved financial freedom and are lucky enough to help others do it as well through Lockeinyoursuccess.com, our educational website.
This home is for us a way to create our own get away and for us to share our passion for Disney with other fun loving families.
6. Where did you and John grow up? Where do you call home now?
We grew up on the North Shore in Massachusetts. Our first home we designed and built in the Lakes Region of NH. Even though we do not live in our first house anymore, (we now earn income from it as a long-term rental as well as some other NH homes we own) we do still live in NH and enjoy the sunsets on the lake.
7. So now that you have completed your Disney Fun House creation and now taking bookings, what are your thoughts on the process?
Decorating the Disney Fun House was a blast! We discovered how much we enjoyed coming up with designs and creating them. Many of the decorations you see in the home we share on the Art page of the website for all to enjoy for free!
8. What thoughts would you like to share with future guests of the Disney Fun House?
There are many hidden Mickeys that we designed and put into the home for everyone to enjoy. Happy Mickey hunting!
